Our Volunteer Trainings!

Volunteer Orientation

Our general orientation includes learning about our organization, our mission, our different programs, farm & equine safety, the role of a side-walker, and how to set up our participants for success. You will also get a chance to practice the side-walker holds we use in our program.

This training must be completed to volunteer in any capacity at Endeavor.

Horse 101

The Horse 101 training covers how to work with our horses at Endeavor. This includes learning about equine body language, paddock safety, grooming, and tacking. You will get hands-on experience practicing grooming and tacking in order to assist in getting horses ready for the program.

In addition to the successful completion of Volunteer Orientation, this training must be completed in order to volunteer in the barn or in specialized programming at Endeavor.

Horse Leader Training

This training will teach you the techniques that we use to lead our horses at Endeavor. You will get hands-on experience getting the horses from their fields and practice leading the horses in the arena and practicing the mounting process. We go over body language that is important when leading in program as well.

In addition to the successful completion of Volunteer Orientation and Horse 101, this training must be completed to lead horses in our Therapeutic Riding programs.
