Director of Marketing and Events
Emily Bohlander brings over 12 years of experience in public relations and brand communications. Before joining Endeavor in 2025, Emily built her career in luxury fashion, holding roles at Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein. After a decade in the corporate fashion world, she launched her own consulting company, Emily Bohlander Consulting, in 2022. Through this work, she partnered with a variety of Westchester-based brands and businesses, most notably the Bedford lifestyle and event-planning company La Maison Fête. Emily first collaborated with Endeavor in 2024, supporting three of the organization’s signature events. That experience sparked her connection to the team and her deep appreciation for Endeavor’s mission. Today, she is proud to help tell Endeavor’s story and spread the word about their work so that more people in the community can get involved.

Executive Director/Instructor- PATH Intl ATRI, Mentor
Emily is the co-founder and Executive Director of Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc., with over 15 years of experience in equine-assisted services. A PATH Intl. Advanced Instructor and Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, she was recognized as the regional PATH Intl. Instructor of the Year in 2015. Emily earned her BA in Psychology from Duke University, a Certificate in Education from USC Rossier School, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from NYU Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. She also owns and operates Tranquility Lake Farms, a boutique thoroughbred breeding, racing, and sales operation. In 2025, her homebred horse Resilience competed in the Kentucky Derby, finishing 6th. Horses have been a constant in her personal and professional life. Emily is deeply committed to the human-horse connection and increasing access to horses for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Her vision has guided Endeavor’s growth over the past decade. At Endeavor, she dedicates her time in lessons to the Equine Prison Program and supports the team across other lessons and activities when needed.

MA, LCSW-Clinician - EAGALA Mental health specialist, Military Designated Provider, Certified Military Clinical Counselor
Barbara Carbone is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families through depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress, bereavement, and life transitions. She brings extensive expertise in crisis intervention and has worked closely with survivors of violent crime, sexual assault, and military service members and their families.For the past 10 years, Barbara has provided equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning at Endeavor as a certified EAGALA Mental Health Practitioner. Her work focuses on supporting military service members, veterans, and individuals facing a range of mental health challenges. She is also an active facilitator in Endeavor’s Equine Prison Program. In addition to her role at Endeavor, Barbara maintains a private practice. She holds an MA in Psychology and an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, and is a Certified EAGALA Military Provider, Certified Military Counselor, and EMDR-trained clinician.

Equine and Facility Director
As Equine Director and Facilities Manager at Endeavor, Hayley brings more than 30 years of experience as a dedicated horsewoman. Her background spans every facet of horsemanship—from riding and training to managing both lesson barns and high-level show barns. She joined Endeavor in 2024 and quickly became an integral part of the team. In her role, Hayley prioritizes the health, wellbeing, and training of the herd, ensuring each horse receives the highest level of care. She also applies her extensive management expertise to oversee the property and facilities, maintaining a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for staff, participants, and visitors alike. Her dual focus on horse care and facility operations allows Endeavor’s programs to thrive in a setting that reflects both professionalism and warmth.

Lead Instructor - PATH Intl ATRI, Mentor, EAGALA, ESMHL
Sarah-Jane brings more than 20 years of experience in the equine-assisted services industry and is a lifelong horsewoman. She joined Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship in early 2018 and now serves as Lead Instructor. Before joining Endeavor, Sarah-Jane spent a decade at GallopNYC as both Instructor and Instructor Manager, following earlier roles at Equestria in New York City, based out of the historic Claremont Riding Academy. From 2003–2009, she was also active in recreational riding at Claremont Riding Academy and Bergen Equestrian Center. Originally from New Zealand, Sarah-Jane competed in equestrian events from the age of 8 through 21, including 3-Day Eventing. She holds Advanced CTRI, ESMHL, and CTRI Mentor certifications, and at Endeavor she leads programs in Adaptive Riding, Ground Horsemanship, and Veterans Services.

Laurie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSWR) and Certified Military Counselor with more than 30 years of experience in the mental health field. She is an Advanced Eagala Mental Health Provider, Advanced Eagala Equine Specialist, Military Designated Eagala Provider, PATH International Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), and a Certified Animal-Assisted Therapy Practitioner. She began her career as a social worker in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment before establishing her own private practice. A lifelong horsewoman, she grew up with horses and worked for years as a professional groom and barn manager. Since 2013, Laurie has specialized in equine-assisted therapy, with a strong focus on working directly with military personnel and veterans. In 2016, she co-founded Endeavor’s Veteran Program, bringing her expertise and passion for equine-assisted services to the farm. Today, she continues to combine her deep clinical background with her lifelong connection to horses to help participants heal, grow, and thrive.

Therapeutic Riding Instructor - Path Intl CTRI
Margaret’s love for therapeutic horseback riding began at age 13, when she volunteered at a local program. That early experience inspired her to pursue her education at Centenary University, where she followed the CTRI track under the mentorship of Octavia Brown. She graduated in 2017 with an Associate’s Degree in Equine Studies and became a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. Margaret first joined Endeavor as a volunteer in 2021. When a weekend instructor role became available in early 2022, she was honored to step into the position. Since then, she has been teaching therapeutic horseback riding lessons every Saturday—and can’t imagine a better way to spend her day.

Program Manager/Instructor- Path intl ESMHL
Jenny has had a lifelong involvement with horses, showing in the hunters and equitation divisions as a junior before pursuing a career in education. She spent 25 years as a teacher, earning her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and teaching at Saint David’s School in New York City. Jenny joined Endeavor in 2017, first as a volunteer and now serves as Manager of the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Program. In addition to overseeing EAL, she assists with the management and instruction of Endeavor’s Pathways Program. She is also a PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL).

Instructor - Path into ESMHL
Lisa Maksimyadis brings more than 30 years of horse experience and diverse fields to her work at Endeavor. A U.S. Army veteran medic Lisa has also managed horse barns, taught riding lessons, and worked in restaurant management before turning her focus fully to mental health and equine-assisted programming. She first joined Endeavor as a volunteer in the Veteran program and became part of the staff in December 2023. Currently, Lisa supports both the Veteran program and office operations, combining her clinical training with her equine expertise to help create meaningful, healing experiences for participants.Lisa holds credentials as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) and Mental Health Counselor (LP). She also earned an M.S. in Special Education, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology, and an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling.

Senior Program and Education Specialist - PATH, Intl Master Instructor, ESMHL, Mentor, Faculty/Evaluator, Registered Therapist, OTR/L
Marny Mansfield has been working in the field of equine-assisted services for more than 32 years. She brings a wealth of experience from programs across New York, Vermont, and Colorado, and most recently served as an Associate Professor in the Animal Sciences Department at SUNY Cobleskill. While there, she directed the on-site Therapeutic Horsemanship program and led the degree curriculum in Therapeutic Horsemanship. Prior to her academic career, she practiced as a licensed Occupational Therapist in both hospital and private practice settings in Vermont. As one of Endeavor’s original team members, Marny played a key role in helping to launch the organization and was part of its first year and a half of operations. She recently rejoined the team and now serves as Senior Program and Education Specialist. In this role, she works across all aspects of programming and herd development, while also designing educational opportunities for staff, interns, and professionals. She holds extensive credentials, including: NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist, PATH Intl. Master Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI), PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), PATH Intl. Registered Therapist, PATH Intl. Mentor, and PATH Intl. Faculty and Evaluator (all levels). She is also certified in CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid.

Director of Program and Operations/ Instructor - PATH Intl CTRI, ESMHL, Mentor
With over 30 years of experience as a Broadway stage manager and event producer, Tamlyn brings a unique blend of organizational expertise, creative vision, and passion for equestrian life to her role at Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship. Having ridden on the A circuit in equitation and small and large junior hunters, she first joined Endeavor at its founding as a horse exerciser. Her dedication quickly grew into serving as Volunteer and Participant Coordinator, and later earning her PATH Intl. certification as an instructor. Tamlyn went on to serve as Instructor and Event Manager before stepping into her current role as Program and Operations Director, where she oversees the design, delivery, and growth of Endeavor’s programs. Drawing from both the precision of Broadway and the horsemanship of the show ring, she is committed to creating impactful, meaningful experiences for participants, staff, and community alike.

Moe joined Endeavor in her first role within a therapeutic horsemanship program, bringing with her over 25 years of experience as a Licensed Equine Veterinary Technician, Hospital Manager, and Operations Manager at several prestigious veterinary clinics. Known for her exceptional organization, creativity, and calm, welcoming presence, Moe loves getting to know Endeavor’s volunteers and making each person feel valued and appreciated. A lifelong horse lover, Moe grew up riding and showing in the hunter ring and now dreams of owning her own safe and steady trail horse. When she’s not at the farm, you can find her sewing and quilting, cooking and baking, tending to her vegetable and cut-flower gardens, or caring for her beloved chickens and donkeys.

Equine/Barn and Safety Manager; Instructor - Path Intl ESMHL
Tara began her journey with Endeavor in 2017 as a volunteer and joined the staff in 2020. As Equine and Barn Manager, she is responsible for the daily care and wellbeing of Endeavor’s herd, ensuring that each horse thrives in a safe, healthy, and enriching farm environment. Tara also works closely with the many wonderful volunteers who help keep the barn and paddocks in top condition, and she leads Endeavor’s Horse 101 program, providing hands-on training and education for all new volunteers. A PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, Tara plays an active role in several of Endeavor’s outreach programs, including the Veteran and Prison programs—often traveling with ponies to bring the power of horses beyond the farm. She also instructs lessons within Endeavor’s ground-based horsemanship program.

Chris spent decades in the equine world — riding horses, being a devoted show mom, and serving as her daughter’s unpaid (and often under-appreciated) groom. Today, she’s living the dream—covered in hay and horse hair—working at Endeavor as a PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) and a CTRI trainee. She began volunteering at Endeavor in 2017 and was inspired and supported by the Endeavor team to pursue her PATH certifications. Having worked and volunteered with neurodivergent populations throughout her life, Chris has found in Endeavor the perfect place to combine her professional skills, lifelong passion for horses, and commitment to helping others.
