Happy 2017! As we embark on our third year of operations, we are proud to report another year of remarkable growth and accomplishments, none of which would have been possible without our incredible community of participants, volunteers, equines, partners and donors. In 2016, Endeavor served 216 individuals, provided nearly 2,700 equine-assisted lessons and therapies, and had over 13,000 logged hours of support from volunteers.
We also welcomed Melissa Jarzynski, MSPT, HPCS and Meg Broderick to our staff as Clinical Programs Manager and Program Associate, respectively; partnered with consultants Meredith Bazaar, CCC-SLP, HPCS, Marni Reuling, Psy.D., Laurie Ciavardini, LCSWR, and Barbara Carbone, LCSW to enrich our Equine Assisted Therapy offerings; launched a successful Veterans Program, which provided services to 41 veterans and active duty service members; brought on five new board members with diverse backgrounds and experience, who are already working to help us fulfill our mission; and added two new horses to our herd.
Simply put, we could not have done it without you.
With your help, we hope to make 2017 even better, and we have some exciting initiatives to share. This year, Endeavor is partnering with local schools, particularly in the Bedford Central School District, to provide programs and services to more elementary school children with special needs. We’ve put together a fun and educational curriculum, and can’t wait to get our programs off and running. In addition, our Clinical Programs Manager, Melissa Jarzynski, has developed a rubric to measure the results and outcomes of these programs to track students’ goals and progress, and to provide valuable data for our organization and our industry.
We’re also partnering with businesses in the area to plan several smaller events throughout the year in addition to our two annual fundraisers, the Summer Cocktail Party on June 3rd, and Horse Show on October 14th. Keep an eye on your inbox and our Facebook page for these fun events!
We are so grateful to be a part of this ever-growing community, and are humbled by all your support. We invite you to visit the farm any time to see first-hand your impact on our participants and equines, and hope it leaves you feeling just as inspired as we do. It’s because of YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT that we are able to provide all of the services offered here at Endeavor – thank you, thank you, thank you.
