Happy 2016! As of January 1st, I had an exciting change in my role here; I am honored to announce that I have been named the Executive Director of Endeavor. While I will continue instructing and working with our wonderful equine partners, I will also focus on the day to day activities and future of Endeavor. My goal is to continue building our center off the strong foundation we created in 2015. Guided by our values and motivated by our mission, I believe I can help lead Endeavor towards a fun and sustainable future.
During the calm time between programs, all of us here at Endeavor have taken the opportunity to reflect on the growth and the accomplishments we have experienced in our inaugural year – what a year!! In 2015, we served over 100 participants and were the beneficiary of over 40,000 hours of donated time from our community members. Now that we have hit our stride, the sky is the limit! As we embark on 2016, we are excited to leverage our momentum to enhance and deepen both our direct-service and professional development program offerings even further.
Specifically, we are excited to launch the following initiatives:
- All participants will receive comprehensive reports on their progress against their goals
- Endeavor is now collaborating with therapists and mental health professionals to offer more services
- We are developing a series of educational videos for professionals in our field of equine-assisted activities and therapies to benefit from our expertise
Of course, we could not do everything that we do without the loyal support of our trained group of volunteers. We are so fortunate to have some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers around – just being around them inspires each and every one of us here at Endeavor. And we are always in the market for more volunteers! If you know of anyone that might be interested, please send them our way. We have a lot to do on our 50-acre farm, both in and out of program and could really use the help!
With a barn and staff full of energy after having had a restful New Year, we are all chomping at the bit to start our winter horsemanship program and begin what is sure to be a busy year. We are eternally grateful to our wonderful Endeavor community. We look forward to seeing you at the farm, at our special events, and on our Facebook page. It’s because of YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT we are able to provide all of the services offered here at Endeavor – thank you, thank you, thank you.
