Happy Fall! All of us here at Endeavor are excited to be underway with our fall programs and still smiling in the afterglow of a wonderful Second Annual Horse Show. During the spring and early summer, Endeavor recruited staff, participant families, partnering agencies, volunteers, Endeavor horse owners, and community members to participate in a series of strategic planning meetings. Led by local Bedford residents, Alessandra Rose and Peggy Patalino, the Strategic Planning groups helped Endeavor synthesize a three-year plan complete with an updated mission, vision, tactical road map and achievable goals. Empowered by the ongoing support from our Endeavor community and the direction from the strategic plan, Endeavor is well on its way to thoughtfully and purposefully growing our programs.
Endeavor had three main fundraising efforts in 2016: the Wellington Cocktail Party in March, the Summer Cocktail Party in June, and the Endeavor Horse Show in September. Each of our events surpassed our fundraising goals and we were able to share our story with passionate and likeminded individuals. I hope everyone has had a chance to watch the beautiful video produced by our friend, Bob Krist, about Endeavor therapeutic riding participants and siblings, Charlotte and Claire. You can click here to watch. We have a plan for two more videos – so stay tuned!
This fall, Endeavor is operating at capacity and actively working to incorporate new horses in our program to increase our availability. Through the help and dedication of 55 active volunteers, Endeavor is offering therapeutic riding to 42 participants; speech and language, physical therapy, and mental health services to 11 clients; a combination or riding, ground work, and equine assisted psychotherapy to 41 veterans; and partnering with 6 residential treatment agencies to offer ground and riding programs to rotating groups. As we look forward to 2017, the program team at Endeavor is actively working on how we can accommodate the growing demands of program at Endeavor. We are confident that we can grow our services to meet the need!
November 6th marks our two-year anniversary. These two years have blown by and filled our staff, horses, and volunteers with wonderful memories and a passion for the work we do. I hope you enjoy all of the wonderful stories within this newsletter and feel proud to know that you, as part of our Endeavor community, are part of the reason we succeed. We have an open door policy here at Endeavor, please feel free to stop by and visit, ask questions, or sign up to volunteer! It’s because of YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT we are able to provide all of the services offered here at Endeavor – thank you, thank you, thank you.
