EMILY WYGOD BUSHNELL

Emily Wygod Bushnell is an avid horsewoman. She owns and operates Tranquility Lake Farms, LLC a thoroughbred breeding, racing, and sales company based out of Versailles, KY. She competed internationally at the top hunter and jumper competitions from the Amateur Owner Hunters to the Grand Prix Jumpers.

She fell in love with Therapeutic Horsemanship as a volunteer and always dreamed of opening her own center. Emily graduated from Duke University with a bachelors degree in Psychology, completed her masters from USC – School of Rossier in Secondary Education, and obtained a certificate from NYU – Heyman Center in Non-Profit Management. She lives in Bedford with her husband, 2 dogs, 4 horses, and 1 cat

CAROLINE BLACK
BOARD OF DIRECTORS -
VICE PRESIDENT

Caroline Black is the parent of a special needs child who has enjoyed therapeutic horsemanship for several years. Caroline herself has been a horsewoman since early childhood, having extensively competed in equitation and hunter classes.  

She received her BA from Connecticut College and an MA from Columbia University and is the Program Director at the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York. She resides with her husband and two sons in Bedford, NY.

 

PEGGY PATALINO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS -
SECRETARY

Peggy Patalino has lived in Bedford for almost 15 years. She received a BA from Hamilton College and an MS in Accounting from New York University.

Peggy began her career in the finance group at JP Morgan then spent 12 years in private equity at Lexington Partners where she headed up the fund accounting and administration group. After working for 20 years, she gave up her career to raise her 3 children.

Peggy is an active volunteer at Endeavor. Prior to volunteering at Endeavor, she was afraid of horses; she now loves being around them and learning about their special qualities. She also volunteers with Achilles International and is very involved with Hamilton College working on several committees including the Annual Fund and the Nominations Committee.

Peggy is married to Pat and has three children – Isabelle, Kate (who also volunteers at Endeavor) and Jack. She adores her dog, Rocky.

OLIVER BUSHNELL
BOARD OF DIRECTORS -
TREASURER

Oliver Bushnell works in real estate investment and development in New York with projects in Manhattan, Puerto Rico, and Boston. Oliver plays an active role in acquisitions, asset management, investor relations and annual reporting. Oliver received his bachelor's degree in economics from Tufts University and a professional certificate in real estate finance and investment from NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Oliver caught the horse bug later in life, but now resides with his wife in Bedford with four horses, two dogs, and a cat. Each day now brings Oliver a new equine lesson.

 

NANCIE TRIPODI
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Nancie was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and received a BA from Hamilton College, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Nancie began her career in retail with Victoria’s Secret and then moved to work with the Gap, working in various roles across the company including strategy, merchandising and product development. After ten years Nancie left to pursue her dream and launch her own line of functional and fashionable active wear for women, and has been an entrepreneur ever since.

Nancie enjoys all things active, and being outdoors as much as possible. She resides in Bedford, NY with her husband Esteban, son Oliver, daughter Lulu, and dog Cinco.

KATE OLIVER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kate has been riding since the age of 7 and has been a professional trainer for 26 years. She opened CEO Stables in 2005 and currently trains and competes on the A circuit.

"Horses have given me so much over the years and I'm excited to have this opportunity to give back to the community I love through these wonderful animals and the innovative programs that Endeavor has created." 

 

ALEX HAMER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alex grew up in Cheshire, England and lived there until he was 15. His passion for horses, riding and animals led him to Bedford, NY, where he owns and operates Buxton Farm located in Bedford Hills and a second location at Grand Central Farm in North Salem. He has served on the Board of Trustees for The Friends of John Jay Homestead, and The Board of Directors for The Bedford Riding Lanes Association for more than six years. He joined the Bedford Historical Society Board in 2010. Alex is also a supporter of the Humane Society, the ASPCA and numerous horse rescue groups.

Alex has two dogs; Lilly (6) from the ASPCA and William (2) from Danny and Ron's Rescue. 

 

DR. LAURA FAULKNER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dr. Laura Faulkner obtained her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 after graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Political Science in 2007. Following an internship in ambulatory medicine and hospital work at Fairfield Equine Associates and a fellowship at New Bolton Center (University of Pennsylvania) in large animal ultrasound and cardiology, Laura joined the staff at Miller & Associates (Brewster, NY) in July of 2013. Laura's practice with Miller & Associates focuses on sport horse medicine with an emphasis on imaging.

When time permits, Laura enjoys riding and showing her family's young homebred jumpers, Capri and Quinn.  She is also the proud "mother" of Harrison Ford, the Shetland pony she adopted in her third year of vet school. Ford has been a happy participant at Endeavor since late 2015 and Laura enjoys watching him thrive in that environment.

 

 

MAUREEN SABO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Maureen Sabo is the mother of three children, and her youngest, Olivia, is a participant at Endeavor. Maureen has been inspired by the therapeutic riding program and the impact it has had on her daughter.

Maureen has lived in Bedford on and off for 35 years with her husband, Richard. She has been involved in the equestrian community most of her life, competing nationally in three-day eventing and show jumping. She graduated from Newhouse School of Communications and worked in the magazine industry. She has served on Boards of Land Preservations, Parks and Trails Associations, and is currently on the Board of the Bedford Riding Lanes. In addition to riding, she actively pursues her additional interests in tennis, golf and bridge.

JOHN MCCORMACK
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

John McCormack was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and presently resides in Bedford, New York with his wife Keelin and two children for the past 10 years. Has operated for the past 25 years as a thoroughbred bloodstock consultant and continues to travel extensively around the world attending bloodstock auctions, stud farms and race meetings selecting racehorses and advising clients.

Graduate of the Irish National stud management course, has held board membership with Fasig Tipton, North America's oldest horse auction company.

ALAN SORKIN
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alan Sorkin resides in North Salem with his wife Pamela, and both are active volunteers at Endeavor.  They have two sons Max and Jacob. 

Over his 25 years in financial services, Alan served as the Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Group Sales for Barclays Capital. He also served as the Global Chief Operating Officer for Equities and as a member of the Equities Executive Committee. Mr. Sorkin also represented Barclays as a Board Member for OpenExchange, a leading real-time video community network start-up. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Sorkin served as the Global Head of Client Strategy and Institutional Corporate Marketing for Lehman Brothers. A former US Army officer, Mr. Sorkin holds an MBA from Harvard University, and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts.

 
 

SALLY SLATER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Sally has lived in Bedford for 32 years, raising a son and daughter here. She has been involved with horses her entire life and has been lucky to have had incredible and magical horses, including world-class show jumpers from an early age. She rides almost every day, either jumping on the farm or enjoying the unique trails.

Sally is a realtor with Douglas Elliman in the Bedford area. She has been selling real estate for 25 years and specializes in horse properties of all sizes, estate properties, and land investment. She covers all of Northern Westchester and is also licensed in CT. 

She has enjoyed working on different charities related to the "horse world", including co-chairing an "Anne's Night" in 2014 for the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village. She also works with the BRLA and has organized their last two barn tours. 

Sally is married to Doug Slater, a wonderful and creative builder and real estate investor.
